I’m fighting with myself on whether or not to publish a rather personal rant about myself. This weekend, I sought out someone who had something direct-linked of mine only to find out in turn, it wasn’t their fault and I didn’t see that. It really embarrassed me and I felt horrible about it, but at the same time…after so many things have happened…I don’t really feel bad about my initial reaction, I guess only at who it was aimed at. So, do I write up a rant that explains why I act like this? Would it be pointless in the end? Or am I being a bit melodramatic and should just shrug it off? If it didn’t deal with so many personal issues, I might say “Fuck it” and throw it up anyway.
This site isn’t my blog, but so many people send things in and I contact so many people that I feel it may be a necessity to explain why I’m not like a lot of other webmasters.
Sigh…yet again, at a loss as of what to do…

I need to upgrade Wordpress shortly, so the layout, pages, comments, etc. may stop working for a while or view weird. I’ll hopefully be able to fix any strange happenings, but I’m a bit nervous about the update. :\ Bear with any imperfections, please! Hopefully they will be fixed quickly!
Do I…dare suggest that the upgrade is over and went flawlessly…? Wow…*marvels at the 2.5 features and complicated-ness @_@* Okay well…all should be well.

I was looking for Kyo pictures on the internet…just to see what the old boy’s been up to, and I came across some concert pictures and people bitching (AGAIN) at the fact that Diru’s music isn’t as easy as before. Now, ya know, I know it’s not as…I don’t even want to say fun as before, because Lie Buried with a Vengeance is enough to make me want to jump around like a mad woman…but then I came across someone complaining that the quality of their music went down and I have to say, I don’t agree with that. The style’s changed completely, but not their quality. I still think they put forth the same effort into their music, I just think it’s changed a completely different color (if you will).
And again, I can’t say how much I hate the bitching. You know, if you hate the new stuff, fine. Go listen to everything from ‘04 and back. Knock your socks off. But don’t rip on them because they’re not making the same songs over and over with different lyrics. Would *that* make you happy? The same melody, different lyrics and maybe a changed beat? Why don’t you go listen to a band like Nickelback? (No flaming, please…) They have a “style” which, to me, translates as basically it’s the same song, mixed around.
I’m sorry, I’m just crabby because I’ve been attacked for calling someone on their asshole behavior. All based (oddly enough) on a celebrity-featured header. Which brings me to my next point. I really and truly hate featuring Kyo in my layouts (I’ll wait until you’re done gawking and gasping). Not because I don’t adore looking at him, but because out of respect, I think it’s wrong using copyrighted images in my layouts. I did it this time because so many people ask. I understand what it’s like going to a fansite and not seeing images of the person it’s about. It’s strange, but to copyright infringe lowers my site into the realm of amateur. I would love to give a great, original presentation that is all of my own making or at least with the help of people who give free usage of their pictures. These pictures are not them. Not to mention that I’ve went on countless times about how Dir en grey and Kyo believe in originality…is it wrong that I do too? Would you really mind if I didn’t feature him in the layout? Truly? Please let me know. Again, I love looking at him too. I love making pictures and bringing out features and showing him off so much because he’s amazing to look at…Although, if I don’t feature him in my layout, does that mean I should take down all of my icons, AIM icons, wallpapers and free layouts? 
Ahh..I’m so irritated and frustrated! Damn this day for turning out so crappy…Sigh. Anyway, please give all the feedback you can. First time visitors, as always, are entirely welcome to comment. Is what I thought this morning on my way to the train station and I saw this guy get off the bus and walk past me with WHITE TUK CREEPERS WITH 1 INCH SOLES…I almost proposed. I desperately wanted to ask, “OMG DO YOU LIKE DIR EN GREY?” But I was too afraid I’d be greeted with the, “O_o…Freak…*Shun*” response. But anyway, has anything like this ever happened to you??

And don’t it figure that it’s a rant. Fun.
Alright. So, I was browsing a few unmentioned Dir en grey “fansites” and I came across yet another one that stole quite a few of my facts and didn’t even bother to 1.) Credit me or 2.) Even bother to reword it and pretend it was original. The only thing added were snarky, unamusing comments that the owner decided to add to them. (Yes, I know I have my own snarky comments but…meh. At least my content is original…however lame. :P) So now, my facts page is going to contain the big, obnoxious “OMFGMINE!!!!!” warning. YAY! JUST what everyone wants to come across, right? RIGHT?
Now, I know I should take the whole thing as a compliment. That I’m so “wonderful” (*EYEROLL*) that my facts are my own in that I read a bunch of articles, bios, trivia, messages, and got them from my own experiences and observations. I can go to sleep at night, resting assured that I didn’t make some craptastic site with a bunch of stolen information and expect to dazzle the masses.
Do I think my site’s the best? No. Do I think everyone should bow down and worship me? HELL no. Do I wish people would STOP trying to build their site off the information of others? YES.
If you were really a fan (and I mean every word of this), you’d put your time and effort into writing everything yourself. I’ll admit, when I was a kid who didn’t know any better, I tried to make a few fansites by ripping off the information that I thought was public knowledge and expected it to be okay. It’s not, I was wrong. It wasn’t until Kyo that I decided that yeah, maybe putting in the leg work, elbow grease and whatever amount of body description into your site makes it worth the effort. Makes it worth your visitor’s time. Why bother redistributing something that the original owner did first and, quite frankly, better?
I don’t expect to be the ideal site, the perfect site, I’m just a humble person who’s irritated that people still think it’s acceptable to gank information and claim it as their own and expect praise and to be labelled a real fan when in actuality, you’re far from it. Dir en grey didn’t get to where they were by stealing things and taking other people’s ideas…why would you show your lack of respect in this manner…?
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. I don’t have the best graphic skills, I can’t write amazing fanfics and I’m not a seamstress who can make amazing cosplay clothes…I’m just a fan doing what I can to be one more person in the world who says, “Hey, Kyo….You’re awesome.” And maybe that’s stupid, silly and maybe he’ll never see it and it will all amount to nothing…but at least I can be proud of what I’ve done. I can honestly say that I’ve put my heart into something that means a lot to me, if no one else. That’s why things even as small as taking something I’ve written effects me so, so much. It’s a piece of my fandom…my heart (corny as it is) that you took without even a second thought and slapped on your site and dubbed it yours…when it’s very much not your own. I guess I feel sorry for people so unoriginal that they feel the need to do this in the hopes of achieving any amount of visitors when…it’s so against what the original intent was. Your fansite should be YOUR SITE…Not something you were able to put together with some amount of coding, a graphics program and someone else’s site.
And I don’t mean to go all, “Hail meh!” at all…by any means or in any sense. I just hope to someone, if only one person, it registers as, “Hey look, she really DOES put effort into this!” because I do…a lot. I wish I could do more, but the outside world calls and I have no choice but to answer. 
(Jobs are pesky, I know!) And ultimately, you can see the fake fans who think it’s alright to gank content and claim it as theirs. What’s the point in everyone knowing the same thing and no one having any difference anyway…?
Anyway…I hope some of that made sense. Well, I hope ALL of it made sense but…yeah. I’ve been house sitting in downtown Chicago and it’s an hour to commute each way every day until March 2nd. So needless to say, I’m a wee bit exhausted from having to get up early. Plus running around getting my old car cleaned and my new one set up…ugh. Anyway, I digress.
Basically, it’s a plea again to not steal…but with also a note of the fact that you’ll probably see a lot of this stuff all over the web, but understand it came from here first. Thank you.
