The Current Status of the Site

As many of you know, be it first or frequent visitors, much of the site is broken and not updated. I’m so sorry for this. My life has changed so much in the past five years, it’s not even funny. Job transitions, relationships lost (friends or otherwise), relationships gained, I’m getting engaged, planning on moving out of my house, my mental health is declining in that I’m having anxiety attacks virtually every day, I’m trying to start a business, etc. A busy life, just like everyone else, ya know? I do have to admit that my passion for Dir en grey and Kyo have died down. I do love them, they are my favorite band and Kyo is and will forever be my idol, but the force that drove me to be OBSESSED with them has died down. It’s not that I don’t really have an interest in them, I just have other things occupying my time, which I hate. I miss Diru, a lot. They were really a wonderful outlet for my energy. I miss all the friends I made through them and I just miss the feeling I’d get updating, writing about Kyo, analyzing him, making graphics that I felt represented my emotions for him or an emotion he felt during a song. I also wonder if he himself has mellowed out a bit and is less concentrated on his image (not that it was ever his priority, but when you go from V-Kei to semi-V-Kei to regular clothes, your image counts too) and more on the music and how they grow and change and there’s less Kyo there to analyze and wonder why he says what he says or does what he does. I do also realize that he’s doing less and less public things, including the MySpace blogs and interviews (Not a complaint, it’s entirely his choice). It just makes it a bit less material for me to pour myself into. I will…admit…begrudgingly that I’m not a fan of Uroboros. It’s just not the kind of music I listen to. There are a few songs on The Marrow of a Bone that I really love, but my favorite era will always be Withering to death. and earlier. Again, not that I won’t support them or continue to go see them or buy their CDs, it’s just one of the other reasons I think my passion has died down some.
That all being said….the site is not dead or dying. In fact, I’m (as we speak) working on his style, but I’ve turned on this plugin that sends me emails with each 404 error and I keep seeing all of these images, all of my work, has disappeared. Netrillium’s damage was really traumatizing. I’ve got little bits and pieces to replace what I once had, but I have to wait for myself to be in the mood to fully replace everything, which I’m trying so hard to do now. I just wish I had the thousands and thousands of pictures of him I once did. Losing those was pretty traumatizing, too. Stupid computer-frying electrician!
But, getting back to what I was originally going to say. I’m working on things. I’m gathering images for Kyo’s style and I just made my first layout last night. Granted, it doesn’t feature Kyo (I had some of those, if you remember…or never knew) because I like to offer a variety, but making layouts before now was like pulling teeth. Even for my fanlistings. So, please hang on while I try to slowly rebuild everything. My fanart is entirely gone and I’m absolutely desperate for new stuff. If you want to send anything, please send it to sumo.ferret@gmail.com where I check my email *constantly.* There are no double email addresses that I don’t check or don’t even exist anymore since the move.
I don’t mean to make excuses, I just want everything to be out and in the open so you know why things are happening…or not happening. I also upgraded another plugin and realized that there actually are visitors coming. That being said, it’s embarrassing the state of the site, and I want to fix that. I’m also saddened by how long it’s taken me to get a new layout up. Which, literally, I can see now and you can’t. Hehe. Plugins are great, I’m tellin’ ya. So, this all being said, I’m getting back to work. I love reading your comments…if you can, please just leave one, even to say “Hi”? I’d be happy to respond, if it would make you feel better. Hon ja, minna-san!
